Do-It-Yourself Projects

This page will link you to some of my sewing projects that I believe you can do with the materials and equipment readily available at local sewing shops. The biggest limitation you will encounter using your domestic or home sewing machine is first the thickness of the fabric and/or number of layers of fabric these machines can handle, and second the amount of fabric you can get through the arm. Another limitation, but less problematic is the size of the thread these machines can handle and stitch length they can produce. With this in mind my advice is that you use lightweight fabrics, slow sewing speeds and the heaviest thread with a small number of stitches per inch (6 to 10).
