Motorcycle Covers

A one size fits all cover that you buy from some catalog will cost you any where from $30 to $120 ( $100 to $ 150 if it has the HD label). If you do it on the cheap, you can make an $8 blue poly tarp work. I’ll show you how in my second project on my do-it-yourself pages. However, considering the large investment many bikers have in their late model motorcycle, the question for me has always been why? Spending $15,000 to $25,000 on a great bike only to protect it with a baggy, drag on the ground nylon, one size fit all nylon cover just doesn’t make sense to me.

Welcome to the world of custom motorcycle covers.

bikini 3

This bikini cover as I call it may look unusual, but it is compact, light weight, washable and very affective in protecting the upholstered seat and instrument panel from the hot summer sun. It is also great in repelling the morning dew.

Bike Cover 14 a

This is an outdoor storage cover made from a heavy height polyester usually used for boat covers. I choose this fabric because I needed something that would protect the bike from the winter snow. For more information on its construction check out project number 2

Half Cover 1

This is an acrylic half-cover I made for my Honda Goldwing. I chose acrylic for both its resistance to UV rays and its washability.

If you live in the Minneapolis, St. Paul Minnesota area and want to protect your motorcycle from sun, dust, rain or snow, all I need is access to your bike for a little more than an hour. The other option is for you to make a pattern for me, using the process I used in project number 2. Costs are based on the size of your bike and on your fabric selection. If you e-mail or call me with the basic measurements talked about in project 2, I should be able to give you an estimate.
