Water Resistanrt Motorcycle Packs, Water Resistant Motorcycle Bags


		I designed this pack with two things in mind. First, I wanted the contents to stay dry. Next, was flap resistance, meaning that anything sewn onto the exterior is caught by the wind and begins to flap. Two D rings, one at each end, are all that was needed, with the removable shoulder strap to handle the pack when the pack is off the bike. Therefore I have eliminated built-in handles. That takes care of the basic design element. The fabric I selected is a PVC Laminate. This fabric is a polyester weave bonded to vinyl, which is the best one I have found for water resistance. It is water proof until you puncture it with a sewing machine needle. Seam sealer solves the needle hole problem. Next I have double sealed the zippered opening with a fabric ridge to cover the zipper followed by a Velcro flap.

The dimensions of this pack can easily be altered to fit your size requirements. I have other colors such as navy blue, maroon, forest green or black, however I picked gray to reduce heat build up since this fabric doesn’t breathe. Dry Pack 2

Dry Pack 2 incorporates a unique zipper design that extends the zipper across the top and down one of the sides. This provides a wider opening for packing. The Velcro seal flap is also included in the body of the pack rather than being sewn on as in the original design.

Below is a picture of the double seal system I have used with this pack. Like the original pack, it incorporates both the number 8 zipper and a Velcro strip.

The size of this pack works well on the back seat of a smaller bike such as my Silverwing, but can easily be altered to fit your size requirements. I can make it in another color but I picked gray for my own pack, to reduce heat build up, since this fabric doesn’t breathe.
